I just wanted to report back on how satisfied I am with the Anywhere Map and Pocket Plates.  It has vastly exceeded my expectations.

I just returned from shooting practice approaches.  The precalibrated plates are precise and intuitive to use. Every approach was spot-on perfect. I feel like I could easily ace and ATP check ride!

I live in the South and - as usual - there were numerous afternoon storm cells in the area.  These cells were accurately displayed on the approach plate making it very easy to avoid cells and formulate an exit strategy. 

The Anywhere Map is great on the large Duo display. I tend to use the Low Altitude IFR Enroute Charts and these charts are sharp and clearly presented. The large display eliminates screen clutter.  Routing changes, etc are a breeze.

The Duo is also "right-sized". It is same length as an approach plate book and slightly more narrow. The net result is that it provides a big display without blocking the view of the panel. The competitive products are physically larger and heavier. What good is yoke mounted display if it blocks critical panel instruments (ie, oil pressure)?

I have also found Duo to be rock-solid in terms of stability.  The Windows 7 platform  makes it easy to toggle between Anywhere Map and Pocket Plates. Services like Bluetooth and WIFI are bulletproof.  In fact, the Duo is a very capable netbook class computer.  Add a mouse and keyboard, and you can leave your laptop home when you travel.

I have a Cherokee 6 and all of the components fit neatly in a compartment below the front baggage storage area. The brick power supply made the installation very clean and simple.  If you are interested, I can send you some photos.

Bottom line... Anywhere Map/Pocket Plates Duo is terrific. The 696 and the Bendix/King Ace are full generation behind.  Thank you again for a great product!
