The AWM Sim Trainer has been developed as a learning aid and familiarization tool to be used together with Microsoft’s Flight Simulator 2004 “Century of Flight” program and Anywhere Map or Anywhere Wx.

The AWM Sim Trainer is a customized module that works with Flight Simulator 2004, and translates the simulator data (aircraft position, speed, altitude etc) into NMEA (GPS language). Your handheld device and Anywhere Map software recognizes this NMEA data and displays the information the same way it does when a GPS is hooked up and acquiring data from the GPS satellites. You can also turn on the Attitude Indicator output and get real AI information right on the Anywhere Map. You can also use Pocket Plates in conjunction with Anywhere Map to show geo referenced aircraft position on the NACO (FAA) plate from the aircraft position in Flight Simulator.

You can fly anywhere in the world, set up real flight plans in VFR or IFR conditions and fly them on the Flight Simulator while learning the functionality of the Anywhere Map in the privacy of your home, saving precious engine time and fuel at the same time. Anywhere Map will act just like it does in your real airplane.

AWM GPS SimTrainer works through a serial port or a USB port right into your PDA cradle or data cable.
