Q1: I currently own Pocket Plates for my tablet and have a Lifetime/Current Subscription to Pocket Plates, how do I upgrade my software?
A: Your current subscription will cover the upgrade to the new software. We will offer the data in two formats, on a DVD and Downloadable. The download for Pocket Plates 3.0 is 3GB and, depending on internet provider and connection (Dial-up, DSL, Etc), may take up to 20 hours on a high speed connection, therefore we are offering the DVD as a more convenient and less time consuming way to obtain the information.

Note: If your subscription is not current you will also need to purchase an Annual or Lifetime Subscription renewal.

Q2: I do not currently own Pocket Plates and would like to run the Pocket Plates 3.0 program on my laptop/tablet, what do I need?
A: You will need to purchase the software, which includes 6 months of free subscription time. The software will be shipped to you on a DVD format disk (initial installation not available via download).

Q3: The website says Pocket Plates 3.0 was just released, what is the lead-time for the software to be shipped to me?
A: Software DVD’s will begin shipping Sept. 24, 2008 via UPS ground unless you specify otherwise during order placement. Accelerated shipping incurs an additional charge.

Q4: I currently am on the wait list for Pocket Plates 3.0 for my ATC, when will I receive it and can I download that through Update Center with my other downloads?
A: The ATC support kit including a DVD and 4GB storage card will be shipped to you beginning Sept. 24, 2008 via UPS ground unless you specify otherwise during order placement. Accelerated shipping incurs an additional charge. Pocket Plates 3.0 software/databases cannot be installed via the Update Center.

Q5: I have an ATC and already have the 4GB storage card from Control Vision with the Pocket Plates program loaded onto it, what else do I need to do to update my plates?
A: The remainder of your ATC support kit (software DVD) should be received by Sept. 30, 2008 via USPS mail unless you specified otherwise during order placement. Accelerated shipping incurs an additional charge.

Q6: I have Pocket Plates on my PDA/Pocket PC device (not an ATC), can I load Pocket Plates 3.0 onto it?
A: No. Pocket Plates 3.0 is not compatible with PDA/Pocket PC devices.

Q7: I want to add Pocket Plates 3.0 to my ATC, what do I need?
A: The ATC support kit including a DVD and 4GB storage card are required regardless if you are a current/existing user or a new Pocket Plates customer. The full information for this option can be found here:

Q8: I heard you can see weather and terrain on the plates in Pocket Plates 3.0 now, what do I need to see this on my device?
A: This option is available for the windows (XP/Vista) machines currently if you also purchase/own the Ultra Taws Expansion Pack and/or the XM weather bundle.

Q9: I currently do not have a DVD drive for my computer, how do I install Pocket Plates 3.0?
A: USB DVD drives are readily available from your local computer store or one may be purchased along with your new Pocket Plates 3.0 purchase:
