The ATC’s 4.3" ultra high-definition 800 x 480 screen give the best view ever in a handheld device. It’s touch-screen operated, with big buttons; and unlike many such products, there is nothing to load, nothing to initialize, no “internal computer” to operate – just turn it on and fly! Based on the iPAQ Travel Companion, it retains all of the functionality of the original HP device and adds to this a special EMBEDDED EDITION of Anywhere Map®.
The ATC is convenient and capable, including among its talents the patented “cones of safety”, glide calculator, high resolution terrain, and obstacle and terrain warnings. Options include XM Weather and Pocket Plates® 3.0 approach plates. With GPS enabled approaches, Pocket Plates provide the features and safety margin available on modern panel-mounted units, and then some.
“By pilots, for pilots,” defines the eight years of intensive development that have resulted in the most intuitive navigation system that ever went into an airplane.
The ATC offers an advanced high-resolution terrain map, detailed aviation data including navaids, airspace, airways, SUAs and TFRs, with advanced flight tools like a VNnav HSI, flight planning, weight & balance, calculator, and an Airport Guide. Anywhere Map’s Personal Digital Co- Pilot® tracks your flight and issues Reminders like Switch Fuel Tanks and Begin Descent along with Obstacle and Terrain Warnings.

...Got to SnF and the AWM booth. There was the ATC... Amazing when you see it in person. Bought it on the spot. Then flew to Winter Haven just to use it! All I can add to this thread is that this is the finest handheld GPS there is, period. Those big side buttons solve my only challenge with the 5915. The rotary zoom wheel is a GREAT addition, and renders the look-ahead issue for me moot. In flight, I can honestly report that the screen real estate gives the impression I bought the Q1 Ultra when compared to my 5915.
Huge thanks to the folks at AWM for not only sticking with us 'little system' guys, but practically putting a G1000 in the palm of my hand!

Q: Can I purchase an iPAQ 310 and install your software on it?
A: No. Control Vision has developed the ATC in cooperation with HP as a completely integrated system.
Q: Do I need to send you my old system?
A: No. When purchasing a hardware upgrade you keep your old system.
Q: How do I install database updates on my ATC?
A: Just connect your ATC to you desktop computer and run the updater application we provide. With one click of a button, all of your software and databases will be updated.
Q: Does Pocket Plates work with the ATC?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I add XM weather to my ATC?
A: Yes.
Q: I bought a Wx Worx receiver off of eBay, will it work with my ATC?
A: Only if you send it to us for an upgrade. Call for pricing.
Q: Are any applications or functions from the iPAQ 310 disabled?
A: No. An enhanced version of Anywhere Map is fully integrated into the ATC.
Q: Can I install software on the ATC?
A: No. In order to keep the system easy to operate there is no way to install other applications on the ATC.
Q: Can I really just use this the ATC right out of the box?
A: Yes. There is no software to install or configure. Turn it on and it's ready to go.

A: Fuel prices are updated through the Updater Application.
Q: How are SFR/TRFs updated on the ATC?
A: SFR/TFR updates will be handled through the Update Manager, or as part of the XM WX broadcast if you have XM weather.
Q: Do I need the external antenna? Is there one built in?
A: The ATC doesn't need an external antenna, there is an option for one but it is rarely necessary.
